In doing some work on Stan's Cowan/Coan/Cohen line, I thought one of Zadoc and Susan Coan's daughters, Mary E. Coan, had married Isaac Thomas Eison. So I did a lot of work on that family only to find that Mary E. Coan had NOT married Isaac Thomas Eison. His wife was Mattie Reid, NOT Mary Cohen. But there is a relationship with this family, just not a bloodline. Zade and Susan Coan's son, John W. Cohen had married Ella Reid. Ella and Mattie were sisters. That's why Mattie and Isaac's daughter, Mamie Eison, was living with her Uncle John and Aunt Ella in the 1920 Census. I had assumed that she was the daughter of Mary and Isaac so that she was a niece on the paternal side but she was the daughter of Mattie and Isaac and was their niece on the maternal side. All this work because of one bad assumption on my part. But I thought I would place this work on my blog in case it could help someone else.

It looks like she was married to Will Fletcher but, in looking through this carefully, I know Minnie was married to Bill Fletcher and Mamie was married to Albert Drayton Edwards in 1931. So I think the census taker made some mistakes. I think Mamie was the daughter
of the Eisons so she was counted but she was actually living with her Uncle John and Aunt Ella and was counted there too.
